Proper transportation of expensive equipment and equipment during a move eliminates loss and damage and guarantees the safety of property. Transporting a plasma TV is difficult due to its parameters and strict requirements for moving conditions. The device belongs to the category of fragile, and at the same time, oversized cargo, so it is necessary to pay special attention to its transportation.
Transporting plasma step by step
Preparation. Before you start packing your TV, you need to measure its parameters and make sure that the equipment will fit into doorways and into the elevator. Take into account the additional centimeters of future packaging.
The size of the TV also determines the type of vehicle that can be used for transportation. If you don’t want to deal with regrets later, order a special cargo transport, for example, the “heel” type. Passenger cars, by their design, are not up to the task.
A few hours before packing, you must unplug the TV from the power supply.
Package. To pack your TV, use either its original factory packaging or a box that fits properly. The screen must be wrapped with bubble film, and the gaps between the device body and the walls of the box must be sealed using foam plastic, paper or fragments of the same film. The top of the box needs to be covered with tape.
Loading and transportation. The plasma TV can only be carried, loaded onto a vehicle and transported in a vertical (working) position. This must be taken into account at the packaging stage – the top and the side adjacent to the screen must be marked on the box.
When transporting, turning the plasma horizontally, even with the screen up, is categorically not recommended by manufacturers, since in this position the equipment is especially sensitive to vibrations and shocks, so the electrical circuits may be damaged, and the TV will not work after moving.
Considering the need for vertical transportation of a plasma TV, the machine must be specially equipped to perform this task: it must be equipped with special fastenings that allow the equipment to be securely fixed. Carrying other property in the car is only beneficial: blankets and pillows serve as effective shock-absorbing material, so they can be used to cover the box with the TV and further protect the plasma from shaking.
After the equipment has been transported and brought into the apartment or office, the box must be carefully unpacked and the TV installed in its new place. It will be possible to turn on the plasma only after 3-4 hours, when it has completely “adapted” to the room temperature.
